Recipe for preparing papanas with blueberry jam

Papanas preparation recipe

The cottage cheese is mixed with whole eggs, sugar, baking soda soaked in lemon juice, flour and lemon peel and orange and mix the ingredients.

The shell must be soft. Refrigerate for 2 hours. With the hand given through the flour, form 9 discs and as many dough balls. Run your index finger through the flour and stick it in the coke disk.

Rotate your finger in a circle to obtain a central hole in the dough. In the hot oil, at low temperature, brown 2 papanas at a time - depending on the size of the frying pan - and as many balls on both sides. Normally, papanas are fried for about 5-6 minutes each.

This time depends on the size of the papanas and the level of oil in the frying pan. It is very important that the fire is small so that the papanas do not only fry on the surface and remain raw in the middle.

Remove the papanas, as they are fried, and drain the excess fat on a paper towel. First, you will take out the balls because, being smaller, they will be made first. They are served with sour cream and blueberry jam.

Recipe for preparing papanas with blueberry jam - Recipes

I also lost my appetite after reading it at home. about 7 ingredients, but the most shocking was: 50% fruit

We all know the benefits of eating berries, and even in the short summer, the freezer does not have such a large volume. How do we proceed. How to preserve your favorite fruits and vegetables.

It's very simple, the answer & icircl you already know. We prepare a healthy jam, without gelfix. or as all those artificial preservatives are called, which are extremely unhealthy.

I'm not saying that sugar is very healthy, but a few jars of jam, absolutely delicious, don't even notice our body. Especially like our taste buds, they will be ecstatic.

It's a very simple recipe. Although the initial recipe has 1: 1, fruit / sugar, I dropped because I noticed that it does not make mold, with my version.

As you have already noticed in the pictures, it turned out very beautiful, tied, that's why it's a little trick, which I checked, right at this recipe.

    - 2.5 kg of sugar, I used brown

Wash the blueberries very well, leave them in the water for 5 minutes, then strain them very well. If they stay in the water too long, they will leave some of their vitamins so healthy there.

I left them in the fridge overnight, with lemon juice and sugar. In the morning, they had already left enough juice. If you want, you can remove a part, it will be easier. because we won't have to boil too much. I didn't take it out.

I usually boil it until it drops, about an hour, sometimes an hour and a half. My mother-in-law, I was told that she read in a magazine that if you separate the quantity into 2 pans, it is done faster.

I did the same, I boiled the contents for about 30 minutes, then I separated them into 2 pans. I left it for about 40 minutes and stopped the fire.

Wash the jars well, I recommend using new lids, not old ones, which were opened with a knife or can opener.

Empty jars should sit on something stainless steel, a knife, a tray, whatever you want. then with the help of a polish, put the hot jam, and quickly close the lid. Use the napkin to hold the jar when you close it, otherwise you will burn very hard.

At first, the lids will be slightly bulging, but if they were tightly closed, the hood will retract, which means they will seal perfectly.

I was 2 years old, jam prepared like this.

It turned out delicious, it goes perfectly with pancakes, in the morning on bread, for desserts.

    Step 1

    Cranberry jam

See the recipe step by step: Video recipe Cranberry jam

In a bowl put the sugar, water and lemon juice and mix. Leave on low heat until the sugar melts and a syrup forms.

Then add the blueberries you washed and drained in a sieve. Let it boil for about 1 hour or until it starts to bind. As it thickens, it tends to stick to the pot and therefore needs to be mixed more often.

When the jam has formed, put it in jars and leave it to cool and then serve with toast the breakfast lemon or in various desserts, ice cream, yogurts.

Superb recipe! I think it's the best cranberry jam I've ever tasted. The fruits remained whole and "fleshy", they did not disintegrate into syrup. I like that it's not very sweet either. At the end I added a little lemon juice.

    Re: Cranberry jam

I'm a beginner in the kitchen and I would like to know why you still have to take foam for jams, I don't understand at all, what is the role of that foam, which if I take it, as I tried once, the syrup is left at the bottom and the foam is almost melt
and one more thing, it has something if I also put water in blueberries, it's the first time I do it and it seemed to me that it has no juice at all

    Re: Cranberry jam

I made it according to your recipe, for the first time in my life I make blueberry jam.
I hope it binds when it cools down because I cooked it over a very low heat and it didn't evaporate much. Aaa. and I put 750g of sugar per 1 kg of blueberries because they were from the forest (the smaller ones), not from the culture and they were more sour, plus I wanted it to be better preserved.
Otherwise I ventilated it as you say, sterilized jars all.
I doubted whether to put lemon on them, in the end I didn't say that they were more sour and you didn't say anything about lemon.
    Thanks for the recipe.

Lia, you have to do the cold plate jam / jam test if you don't respect my quantities, to make sure it's tied. boiling times are no longer valid if you change the quantities.
the jam can boil vigorously at first while it is liquid, then reduce the heat as it decreases and thickens.

a chef on a website says that blueberries, especially those from the forest, must be chosen because they can have thorns among them.
You need fine plastic gloves because your nails turn black.
I wrote above that it came out a little juicier, adding more sugar, but I read elsewhere that it's ok, so it turned out for them last year, believing that they did something wrong.

    Re: Cranberry jam

Ioana, did you wash the blueberries? I ask you because mine left a lot of juice in the bag and I felt sorry for washing them, I thought I was losing the flavor, so I left them like that. on the principle that it is sterilized in the process anyway. I hope I judged correctly. :-D

    Ioana 4 years ago - 25 August 2013 10:01

    Re: Cranberry jam

gabriela, I wash the blueberries in a large sieve that I immerse in water. the filth will rise to the surface and pick them up. repeat this process until the water above remains clean. then I spread them on a thin layer of baking paper and choose them. I also do this with blackberries and raspberries, only I immerse them in water only once because they are more fragile and I don't want them to leave all their juice in the water. if it leaves the juice in the bag, I collect it before washing and strain it through gauze, then I boil it together with the blueberries.

    Blueberry muffins and berry jam

I've tried this recipe before and I really liked it. I stayed with her because she came out to me every time, no matter what filling I decided to make the muffins. But now I tried something different, namely I used soy milk powder to experiment a little. It's a little more convenient than always having milk in the fridge and if I want to make a fry or some muffins then that can save me. Soy milk is not difficult to use, it should only be dissolved in a little hot water and left to cool. It does not have a strong smell or taste so it does not affect the aroma of the muffins. Of course, canned soy milk can be used, especially for those who have given up animal milk. The idea is that it can be replaced and now I know what. I am happy! What I failed to do is use this soy milk powder in pancakes. I don't like how I turn out at all, but maybe I didn't try properly. I will insist. Until then, I enjoy muffins. You not?

    225 gr. flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    150 gr. fine sugar
    75 gr. melted butter
1 pod of vanilla or 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence
    1 beaten egg
200 ml. soy milk, powder or canned milk
    150 gr. cranberries
    2-3 tablespoons of berry jam

    Preparation time: 35 minutes

If we use soy milk powder then we heat 200 ml. of water and dissolve 2 tablespoons of powder. Let cool slightly.
In a bowl sift the flour, baking powder, add sugar and mix.
In another bowl beat the egg, pour the melted and cooled butter, milk and vanilla bean core or essence. Stir and pour into the first bowl. Stir again and add the washed and dried blueberries, leaving a few aside. We also incorporate the 2-3 tablespoons of jam. We pour the composition into muffin tins. At the end, we put the remaining blueberries on top of the muffins and we can add a little more sweetness.

Bake the muffins for 25 minutes in the preheated oven or until they become reddish on the surface and fluffy. Leave to cool and serve.

Recipe for preparing papanas with sour cream and cranberry jam

    Method of preparation:
In a bowl, mix the cheese with the eggs, salt, sugar and baking powder. Gradually mix the flour. The amount of flour can vary depending on the type of flour, the size of the eggs and the type of ricotta. I got 200 g of flour. The dough obtained must be soft but manageable.

From the mentioned quantities, 5 papanasi are obtained. Therefore, divide the dough once in 5. To get each ring, I portioned every fifth of the dough as follows:
    * half for the base ring
    * 2/3 of the second half for the middle ring
    * 1/3 of the second half for "word "

After portioning, I shaped the rings by hand (the consistency of the dough allows this without problems). I guess if I had used the dedicated utensils they would have turned out more beautiful, but I still don't have a very equipped kitchen. :)

Fry in hot oil. If the oil is overheated, there is a risk that the papanas will burn on the outside and remain raw on the inside. Therefore, keep the fire to the environment.

After frying, assemble each papanas, put 2 tablespoons of sour cream and 2 tablespoons of jam and eat warm.
I used ricotta because I couldn't find the cottage cheese.
