What You Didn't Know About Sir Kensington's

In the US, most hearty home meals are never quite complete without a solid serving of ketchup. Cookout? Ketchup. Making fries from scratch? Ketchup. Meatloaf? Ketchup. So it's a wonder that, for years, shoppers have settled for any old version of the squeeze bottle. Cue Sir Kensington's, a natural ingredient condiment brand that stepped onto the scene in 2010, starting with ketchup and since expanding to more products, all made from less sugar and boasting more taste than traditional store-bought brands (per Forbes ).

Their mission: Gourmet-level natural ketchup, like the kind that you find in a local hole-in-the-wall where they bottle their own made from scratch. So, instead of smothering a burger in ketchup packets just to disguise how overcooked it might be, with this brand, you'll want to go overboard because the natural flavor is simply that good with a peppery kick. While The Takeout's blind taste test of different ketchup options reports that not everyone is sold on this sophisticated sauce, others swear by it. Either way, Sir Kensington's is quickly learning just how to shake up the condiment game — and doing it well.

The ingredients you'll need

You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make these yummy turkey meatballs. The exact measurements are included in the recipe card below. Here's an overview of what you'll need:

Ground turkey thighs: These should be marked as 93% or 94% lean. Ground turkey breast is too lean, so please don't use it in this recipe.

Mayonnaise: I like to use avocado oil mayonnaise. My favorite brand is Sir Kensington's.

Dijon mustard: if you have regular mustard you can use that, but Dijon is better. It's thick and creamy, and the flavor is less vinegary and more mustardy.

Seasonings: Kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. They add lots of flavor to the meatballs! It's important to make sure that the spices you use are fresh - a stale spice can easily ruin a dish.

Chopped fresh parsley: If you don't have fresh parsley you could use 1 teaspoon of dried parsley, oregano, or thyme instead. But the fresh herb does add a nice flavor.

Olive oil for frying: I use ¼ cup even though about half of it stays in the skillet after frying. But I feel that being generous with the oil helps the meatballs brown better.

But that mayo, tho.

Sir Kensington’s vegan mayo is non-GMO – they only use sunflower oil in their recipe – and you can use it anywhere you’d use regular mayo. I have been putting it on basically everything I eat for two weeks. #sorrynotsorry

Air fried dumplings with Chipotle Fabanaise for dipping! Who needs sour cream?

If you’re a mayo fan, definitely give Fabanaise a try. Actually, even if you’re not a mayo fan, you might just love this mayo. Our very own Andrea Bertoli HATES mayo. Her partner, Scott, can’t even eat mayo in front of her. It just grosses her out that much. But she told me in confidence that she’s been putting Chipotle Fabanaise on everything since she cracked open the jar. I guess that’s not a secret anymore. Don’t tell me your secrets, guys.

You can find Sir Kensington’s Fabanaise at Whole Foods Market and on their website. Just make sure you’re grabbing Fabanaise. Sir Kensington’s does make non-vegan mayos, as well.

Ingredients in these Healthy Buffalo Turkey Meatballs:

  • ground turkey
  • almond flour
  • hot sauce
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • salt and pepper
  • chili powder
  • egg

Ground turkey naturally has less fat than ground beef.

And using almond flour instead of breadcrumbs makes these delicious balls of Paleo, Whole30, and Gluten Free joy.

When I make these, I use Frank’s hot sauce. It is my all time favorite hot sauce because it doesn’t have added sugar or random chemicals inside of it.

It really hits the spot when looking to get that buffalo flavor fix, but without the extra crap.

Using a healthier hot sauce makes these meatballs taste light. Light but full of great flavor!

  1. To serve, divide zucchini noodles among 3–4 plates and top with meatballs.
  2. Drizzle with gochujang sauce and top with chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
  3. Serve immediately, with lime wedges on the side.
