Cake pudding

I had some cake left forgotten in the pantry and I repeated last year's recipe when I couldn't; now yes !!!

  • 1/2 cozonac harder
  • 300 ml milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • raisins (I put cranberries)
  • ice cream for serving

Preparation time: less than 60 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Cake pudding:

Put the diced cake in a bowl. Eggs beaten well with sugar, flavors, a pinch of salt and milk, pour half over the cake. After they have soaked well, stirring, we put them in a form of yena greased with butter, on top of the raisins and the rest of the milk. Bake for 30 minutes.

Serve hot pudding with ice cream. Is wonderful!!

Method of preparation

If you use fresher cake / bread, let the cubes dry a little in a tray or on a grill.

Preheat the oven to 170 g C.

We put the essence of rum and raisins.
Separately beat the egg whites until stiff. When the egg white is on the bowl (it doesn't flow if we turn it upside down) add the sugar and mix until we get a hard and shiny meringue. Mix the meringue with the cake composition with a wooden spoon. Bake on low heat for about 40 minutes. Let cool completely then portion.

Even though we were fewer diners this holiday season, the menu was still plentiful and I think I speak on behalf of many. If I learned something from adihadean.ro and from my family in the kitchen, it is that we can fight food waste after the holidays and not only, in a fairly simple way. Whether we are talking about some slices of bread or cake left over from Christmas, my recipe today will make you think three times before throwing them away.

Ingredients
  • 4-5 slices of bread or cake
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 bananas
  • 200 ml of milk
  • Cinnamon
  • Cardamom
  • 1 cube of butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Almond flakes
Method of preparation

I started by preparing the liquid cream: I ground two of the bananas well until a paste resulted and I added the eggs and honey. I mixed well with the mixer, and when a fluffy cream resulted, I added milk, cinnamon and cardamom.

To soften and have a special taste, I greased the bread with a little butter and sliced ​​it in half, diagonally. Then I greased a rectangular pan with a little butter, put half of the liquid in the pan and placed the halves of the bread. I sliced ​​a banana and strained it into slices of bread.

At the end, I poured the remaining half of the liquid cream over the bread and left it for 5-10 minutes, until it is absorbed in the bread. Then I sprinkled 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and almond flakes and put the pudding in the oven at 180 ° C for 25-30 minutes.


We prepare a JENA dish either round (diam 27-30 cm), rectangular (15/25 cm) which we will grease well with butter.

The remaining slices of cake and which were strengthened, we break them larger pieces with his hand and put in a large bowl.

* Caramel-cinnamon sauce
Use the basic recipe + 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
* Caramel-coffee sauce: basic recipe + 1 tablespoon of concentrated natural coffee.
* Caramel-brandy sauce: basic recipe +1 tablespoon of brandy

Boil all over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Put hot over cake pudding or bread.
It can be garnished with a word of whipped cream and the sauce is poured on top.

It is advisable to put it in the tray so that all the liquid (milk) can be placed over the cake. In the forms of muffins it doesn't fit well and it kind of burns in this case
